Day 1

Arrival at Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station – Transfer to Gangtok

Upon your arrival at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Railway Station, our representative will warmly welcome you and assist you with your luggage before introducing you to your dedicated driver. You will begin your scenic drive towards the beautiful hill capital of Gangtok, the gateway to the Eastern Himalayas. The journey follows the winding mountain roads alongside the crystal-clear Teesta River, offering breathtaking views of lush green forests, suspension bridges, charming villages, and terraced farms.

Around 11:00 AM, you may stop at a local restaurant en route to enjoy lunch (at your own expense). Continue your drive while soaking in the magnificent Himalayan landscapes. Short photo breaks can be taken at picturesque viewpoints whenever time permits. As the elevation gradually increases, the cool mountain breeze and fresh air make the journey refreshing and enjoyable.

You are expected to arrive in Gangtok between 3:30 PM and 5:00 PM, depending on road and traffic conditions. After completing the hotel check-in formalities, spend some time relaxing after your journey. In the evening, you may take a leisurely walk to the famous MG Marg, Gangtok's vibrant pedestrian street lined with cafés, handicraft shops, restaurants, and local boutiques. It is the perfect place to enjoy authentic Sikkimese cuisine, shop for souvenirs, or simply experience the lively atmosphere of the town.

After dinner, return to your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay, preparing for the exciting Himalayan excursion awaiting you the following day.

Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir

Start your day early with breakfast at the hotel around 7:00 AM before setting out for one of Sikkim's most spectacular mountain excursions. Your first destination is the magnificent Tsomgo Lake (Changu Lake), situated at an altitude of approximately 12,400 feet (3,780 meters). The drive itself is an unforgettable experience as the road winds through alpine forests, rugged mountain landscapes, waterfalls, and snow-covered peaks during the winter months.

You will reach Tsomgo Lake by around 10:00 AM. This sacred glacial lake changes its appearance with every season—from frozen white landscapes during winter to deep blue waters surrounded by blooming rhododendrons in spring. Visitors can enjoy photography, admire the pristine scenery, and even opt for a memorable yak ride (optional and payable directly).

After spending quality time at the lake, continue towards the revered Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, located at an altitude of nearly 13,000 feet. This unique shrine is dedicated to the legendary Indian Army soldier believed to continue protecting the borders even after his death. The temple attracts both pilgrims and tourists due to its fascinating history and breathtaking mountain surroundings.

After sightseeing, begin your return journey to Gangtok. You may stop at a local restaurant for lunch on the way back. Arrive at your hotel by approximately 4:30 PM–5:30 PM. The remainder of the evening is free for leisure. Guests may revisit MG Marg, enjoy local cafés, or simply relax at the hotel while enjoying the pleasant mountain weather.

Gangtok to Pelling

After breakfast at around 8:00 AM, complete the hotel check-out formalities and begin your scenic drive towards the picturesque town of Pelling, located in West Sikkim. This route offers some of the finest Himalayan scenery, passing through charming villages, dense forests, tea gardens, waterfalls, and winding mountain roads.

During the journey, several short breaks can be taken for photography and refreshments. One of the highlights along the route is the breathtaking Rabdentse viewpoint, where the magnificent Kanchenjunga Range often appears in all its glory on clear days.

Around 1:00 PM, stop at a local restaurant for lunch before continuing your journey through peaceful mountain landscapes. The drive provides excellent opportunities to witness rural Sikkimese life, traditional monasteries, and scenic valleys.

You are expected to reach Pelling by approximately 3:00 PM–4:00 PM. After checking into your hotel, relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. If time permits, you may take a short walk around the local market or simply admire the panoramic mountain views from your hotel.

Pelling is well known for offering some of the closest and most spectacular views of Mount Kanchenjunga, making it one of Sikkim's most popular hill destinations.

Full-Day Pelling Sightseeing with Sky Walk

After breakfast at around 8:00 AM, begin a full day of sightseeing covering the major attractions of Pelling. Your first stop is the famous Chenrezig Statue and Sky Walk, one of Sikkim's newest attractions. The towering statue of Lord Chenrezig overlooks the valley, while the glass Sky Walk offers spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan landscape.

Continue your sightseeing with visits to the historic Pemayangtse Monastery, one of the oldest and most important monasteries in Sikkim, followed by the fascinating Rabdentse Ruins, the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Sikkim.

Later, visit the scenic Khecheopalri Lake, regarded as one of the holiest lakes in Sikkim and surrounded by dense forests. According to local beliefs, not even a single leaf remains floating on its surface for long as birds immediately remove them.

Other attractions may include Rimbi Waterfalls, Kanchenjunga Waterfalls, and local viewpoints depending on the available time.

Lunch can be enjoyed at a local restaurant during the excursion. By late afternoon, return to your hotel and spend the evening relaxing amidst the peaceful Himalayan surroundings.

Pelling to Darjeeling

Enjoy breakfast before checking out from your hotel around 8:30 AM. Today you will drive towards the world-famous hill station of Darjeeling, popularly known as the "Queen of the Hills."

The journey passes through beautiful valleys, dense forests, tea estates, and charming mountain settlements. Along the way, you will cross the border into West Bengal while enjoying ever-changing Himalayan scenery.

Around 12:00 PM, stop for lunch at a local restaurant before continuing towards Darjeeling. The final stretch of the drive offers magnificent views of sprawling tea gardens and colonial-era architecture.

You are expected to reach Darjeeling by 2:00 PM–3:00 PM. After hotel check-in, spend the afternoon at leisure. You may stroll around the bustling Chowrasta Mall Road, explore local handicraft shops, enjoy a cup of world-famous Darjeeling tea, or visit nearby cafés overlooking the mountains.

While returning, visit the historic Ghoom Monastery, one of the oldest Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in the region, followed by the scenic Batasia Loop, a remarkable spiral railway track offering panoramic mountain views and a war memorial.

Return to the hotel for breakfast before continuing your sightseeing tour.

The drive descends through the scenic Himalayan foothills, passing beautiful tea gardens, rivers, and forested landscapes. Short refreshment stops can be made along the way if time permits.

It is recommended to depart from Darjeeling at least 5–6 hours before your scheduled flight or 4–5 hours before your train departure, especially during peak tourist seasons, as mountain roads are subject to traffic and weather conditions.
