Itinerary
Day 1

Arrival in Dehradun – Yatra Briefing & Preparation

Dehradun
+

Your Chardham Yatra by Helicopter from Dehradun begins with your arrival in Dehradun one day before the helicopter journey starts. You will be picked up from Dehradun Airport or Dehradun Railway Station according to your arrival schedule and transferred to the designated hotel. Pilgrims are advised to reach Dehradun before 5:00 PM, allowing sufficient time for hotel check-in, briefing and preparation for the upcoming Himalayan pilgrimage.

After check-in, the Chardham Yatra team will meet the pilgrims at the hotel and conduct a detailed briefing about the helicopter schedule, daily movement, helipad procedures, luggage requirements, weather-related considerations and general instructions. This briefing is an important part of the journey because the helicopter operates according to a coordinated circuit schedule, and all pilgrims are required to follow the instructions provided by the ground staff.

During the briefing, each passenger's body weight will also be recorded for helicopter weight management. This is a mandatory operational requirement because helicopter operations in the Himalayan region are subject to strict passenger and luggage weight limitations. All members of the travelling group should therefore be present during the briefing.

The team will also provide a duffle bag for carrying essential clothing and personal requirements during the Yatra. The source itinerary specifies an allowance of approximately 5 kg per person, so pilgrims should pack only essential and lightweight belongings.

The evening is generally reserved for rest and preparation. You can organize your belongings, keep important documents and medicines easily accessible, and prepare for the early morning departure to Yamunotri the next day.

Overnight: Dehradun
Meals: Dinner and breakfast as per package
Transfer: Dehradun Airport/Railway Station to hotel
Important: Reach Dehradun before 5:00 PM for the mandatory briefing.

Day 2

Dehradun to Yamunotri – Helicopter to Kharsali & Yamunotri Darshan

Yamunotri
+

The spiritual journey officially begins early in the morning with your departure from the Dehradun hotel at approximately 6:00 AM. You will be transferred to Doon Helidrome on Sahastradhara Road, where the ground team will complete the necessary boarding and operational procedures before the helicopter flight. The tentative departure from Dehradun Helipad is around 7:00 AM.

The helicopter reaches Kharsali Helipad, the base point for the Yamunotri pilgrimage, at approximately 7:45 AM, subject to operational and weather conditions. Upon arrival, the local ground team welcomes the pilgrims and assists with the onward transfer toward Yamunotri Temple.

Yamunotri Temple is located approximately 5 km from Kharsali Helipad. Pilgrims undertake the journey toward the shrine with Palki/Pony services, which are included in the package according to the source itinerary. The Yamunotri shrine is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna and is traditionally regarded as the sacred source of the Yamuna River, associated with the glacial Saptarishikund region at high altitude.

After reaching the temple, pilgrims have time for Yamunotri Darshan and prayers. The return journey to Kharsali generally takes several hours when using Palki/Pony services, while pilgrims who prefer and are physically able may undertake the route on foot.

After returning to Kharsali, lunch will be served at the hotel. The evening can be used for relaxation or a short local visit around Kharsali, including the winter temple of Yamuna Ji and Shani Temple, subject to time and local conditions.

The day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay at Kharsali. Guests departing early from Dehradun should request packed breakfast from the Dehradun hotel in advance.

Overnight: Kharsali
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Darshan: Yamunotri Dham
Transport: Helicopter + local ground assistance + Palki/Pony

Day 3

Kharsali to Gangotri – Helicopter to Harsil & Gangotri Darshan

Gangotri
+

After breakfast at the Kharsali hotel, the journey continues toward the second sacred destination, Gangotri Dham. Breakfast is scheduled around 7:00 AM, followed by transfer to the Kharsali Helipad. The tentative helicopter departure is around 7:45 AM.

The helicopter lands at Harsil Helipad at approximately 8:30 AM. Harsil is renowned for its scenic Himalayan surroundings, beautiful valleys and peaceful mountain landscape. It serves as the helicopter gateway for pilgrims travelling to Gangotri Temple.

Gangotri Temple is approximately 22 km from Harsil Helipad, and the road journey takes around 50 minutes, according to the source itinerary. After arriving at the helipad, pilgrims proceed toward Gangotri Temple with assistance from the local ground team. The team helps coordinate the temple visit and Darshan arrangements.

Gangotri is one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in Uttarakhand and is closely associated with the sacred River Ganga. Pilgrims can spend time at the temple offering prayers and experiencing the spiritual atmosphere of this Himalayan shrine.

After Darshan, the group returns to Harsil. On reaching the hotel, guests complete check-in and have lunch. The remainder of the afternoon and evening is generally kept relaxed because the high-altitude environment and early morning schedules make adequate rest important.

Guests can spend the evening at leisure or take a short walk around the nearby village, subject to weather, local conditions and available time. Harsil provides an opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of the Himalayan landscape while preparing for the next day's journey toward Kedarnath.

Dinner will be served at the hotel followed by an overnight stay in Harsil.

Overnight: Harsil
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Darshan: Gangotri Dham
Helicopter Sector: Kharsali → Harsil

Day 4

Harsil to Kedarnath – Helicopter & Kedarnath Shuttle Darshan

Kedarnath
+

Day four takes pilgrims to Kedarnath Dham, one of the most revered Shiva temples and one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. After breakfast at approximately 7:00 AM, you will proceed to the Harsil Helipad for the next helicopter sector. The tentative helicopter departure is around 9:00 AM, with arrival at Guptkashi/Sersi/Phata Helipad around 9:30 AM.

From Guptkashi, Sersi or Phata, pilgrims continue toward Kedarnath by shuttle helicopter. Unlike a dedicated private helicopter, the Kedarnath shuttle operates according to an assigned flying slot. Therefore, a waiting period may sometimes be required before the group's shuttle flight. The ground team coordinates the movement and provides assistance throughout this process. In certain operational situations, the helipad may also be changed, and the ground team will arrange the necessary transfer.

After reaching the Kedarnath Helipad, the temple is approximately 500 metres away. The ground team will assist pilgrims in proceeding toward the temple and coordinate the Darshan arrangements.

Kedarnath Temple stands in the spectacular Mandakini Valley surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks. The spiritual atmosphere, mountain landscape and historic significance make the Kedarnath visit one of the central experiences of the Chardham Yatra.

After Darshan, pilgrims return to the Kedarnath Helipad and take the shuttle helicopter back to the Guptkashi/Sersi/Phata sector. The group is then transferred to the hotel for lunch and relaxation.

The evening is free for leisure and rest. Because of the high altitude and early schedule, pilgrims are encouraged to keep the evening relaxed and follow the instructions of the ground staff.

Dinner and overnight stay will be at the designated hotel in Guptkashi/Sersi/Phata.

Overnight: Guptkashi / Sersi / Phata
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Darshan: Kedarnath Ji
Helicopter Sector: Harsil → Guptkashi/Sersi/Phata → Kedarnath → Return

Day 5

Guptkashi/Sersi/Phata to Badrinath – Badrinath Darshan & Mana Village

Badrinath
+

The fifth day of the Chardham Helicopter Yatra takes you to the final Dham of the circuit, Badrinath Ji. After breakfast at approximately 8:00 AM, pilgrims proceed to the designated helipad. The tentative helicopter departure is around 10:15 AM, with arrival at Badrinath Helipad at approximately 11:00 AM.

Badrinath is one of India's most important pilgrimage destinations and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple is situated along the Alaknanda River and holds immense religious significance. The source itinerary notes its association with Adi Shankaracharya and the revival of Hindu pilgrimage traditions in the region.

After landing at Badrinath Helipad, pilgrims proceed to the nearby hotel for check-in. Because the accommodation is located close to the temple, the ground team can efficiently coordinate the pilgrimage movement. After check-in, the ground staff assists the group with Badrinath Temple Darshan.

Pilgrims can spend time around the temple and immerse themselves in the spiritual atmosphere of Badrinath. After Darshan, return to the hotel for lunch and some rest.

Depending on available time, weather and local conditions, pilgrims may also visit Mana Village, traditionally known as the last Indian village before the international border with China. The source itinerary specifies this as an optional activity at additional cost.

The evening can be spent relaxing at the hotel and enjoying the peaceful Himalayan surroundings. After completing Darshan at all four sacred Dhams—Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath—the pilgrimage reaches its spiritual culmination.

Dinner and overnight stay will be at the Badrinath hotel.

Overnight: Badrinath
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Darshan: Badrinath Ji
Optional: Mana Village visit

Day 6

Badrinath Darshan & Return to Dehradun

Dehradun
+

The final day begins with an early morning Badrinath Temple Darshan, allowing pilgrims to complete their prayers before returning to Dehradun. After Darshan, return to the hotel for breakfast and prepare for the final helicopter journey.

After breakfast, the group proceeds to the Badrinath Helipad. The tentative schedule mentions departure from Badrinath Helipad around 11:30 AM, followed by arrival at Sahastradhara Helipad, Dehradun, around 12:30 PM, subject to weather and operational conditions.

On arrival at Dehradun, the ground team will assist with the onward transfer. Depending on the booking and travel arrangements, passengers can be transferred to Dehradun Airport or Railway Station.

This marks the completion of your 5 Nights / 6 Days Chardham Yatra by Helicopter from Dehradun, covering the four sacred shrines of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath.

The journey combines spiritual experiences with the spectacular Himalayan landscape and carefully coordinated helicopter and ground services. After completing Darshan at all four Dhams, pilgrims depart with memories of one of India's most significant religious journeys.
