Nestled peacefully in the lap of the Eastern Himalayas, Bhutan is one of the world's few remaining sanctuaries where you can truly step back in time. With over 73% of its land drenched in wild greenery, this carbon-negative kingdom offers a landscape of unadulterated nature, from fields of indigenous red rice to rare fauna on the global "red-alert" list. It is a mystical realm where the "Thunder Dragon" flies on the national flag and ancient folklore remains a living reality; here, the local innocence preserves a belief in snowmen and fire-breathing dragons, while the land is whispered to be haunted by demons and shielded by gods. Home to some of the planet's last nomadic tribes and hidden from the typical tourist crowds, Bhutan invites the intrepid traveler to explore a magical, high-altitude world that remains as authentic as it is breathtaking.

As the lush tea gardens of West Bengal give way to the rising foothills, you will cross into the gateway town of Phuentsholing. This evening is dedicated to bike handovers and a comprehensive briefing. You’ll witness the striking contrast in architecture and atmosphere as you step into Bhutan, preparing your mind and machine for the high-altitude journey ahead. Enjoy a quiet dinner and rest as we prepare to climb into the heart of the Himalayas tomorrow.
Day 2Phuentsholing to Thimphu | Riding into the Clouds
Phuentsholing+
Phuentsholing to Thimphu | Riding into the Clouds
Your journey truly begins as you throttle up the winding mountain roads toward Thimphu, the world’s only capital city without traffic lights. The ride is a sensory delight, passing through mist-covered forests, cascading waterfalls, and small roadside villages. Upon reaching the capital, we visit Simply Bhutan, an interactive living museum where you can try traditional butter tea, witness local folk dances, and learn about the "Zorig Chusum" or the thirteen traditional arts. The evening offers a chance to ride through the Thimphu valley, catching the first glimpse of the illuminated Tashichho Dzong against the night sky.
Day 3Thimphu to Punakha | Over the Mighty Dochula Pass
Punakha+
Thimphu to Punakha | Over the Mighty Dochula Pass
We start the day with a ride up to the massive Buddha Dordenma statue, which overlooks the entire valley. From there, we head toward the legendary Dochula Pass (3,100m), where 108 memorial stupas stand against a backdrop of snow-capped Himalayan peaks. After a quick coffee break in the clouds, we descend into the sub-tropical Punakha valley. Here, we explore the Punakha Dzong, arguably the most beautiful fortress in the country, situated at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. We end the day with a walk across one of Bhutan's longest suspension bridges, draped in colorful prayer flags.
Day 4Punakha to Phobjikha | The Hidden Glacial Valley
Phobjikha+
Punakha to Phobjikha | The Hidden Glacial Valley
After breakfast, we take a short ride to Chimi Lhakhang, famously known as the "Fertility Temple," dedicated to the Divine Madman. The route then takes us higher into the Black Mountains toward the stunning Phobjikha Valley. This wide, U-shaped glacial valley is a conservation paradise and the winter home of the rare Black-Necked Cranes. The ride is rugged and incredibly scenic, offering a true sense of Bhutan's remote wilderness. We visit the Gangtey Monastery, which sits on a forested hill overlooking the entire valley, providing a serene atmosphere for reflection before we settle in for the night.
Day 5Phobjikha to Paro | High Ridelines and Valleys
Paro+
Phobjikha to Paro | High Ridelines and Valleys
Today features an exhilarating long-distance ride as we head back west toward the historic Paro Valley. The road winds through dense pine forests and over high ridges, offering plenty of opportunities for photography and high-speed cornering on well-paved mountain roads. As we enter Paro, the landscape opens up into fertile rice fields and traditional farmhouses. After checking into the hotel, the afternoon is yours for leisure. You can choose to explore the local handicraft markets, visit a traditional farmhouse for a stone bath, or simply relax and prep your gear for the iconic hike tomorrow.
Day 6Paro Local Sightseeing | The Legend of Tiger’s Nest
Tiger’s Nest+
Paro Local Sightseeing | The Legend of Tiger’s Nest
We trade our riding boots for hiking shoes today for the pilgrimage to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest). Perched precariously on a granite cliff 900 meters above the valley floor, this is Bhutan’s most iconic landmark. The hike through ancient woods draped in Spanish moss is as spiritual as it is physical. After descending, we spend the afternoon exploring the Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in the kingdom, and the National Museum (Ta Dzong). The evening is perfect for a celebratory farewell dinner in Paro, sharing stories of the road with your fellow riders as the sun sets over the peaks.
Day 7Paro to Phuentsholing | The Final Himalayan Descent

On your final full day in the Land of the Thunder Dragon, you will gear up for a magnificent descent from the high altitudes of Paro back to the southern plains. This ride is a motorcyclist's dream, featuring hundreds of sweeping curves and dramatic changes in climate and vegetation as you drop thousands of feet in elevation. You'll pass through roadside waterfalls and colorful mountain villages one last time before arriving back in the border town of Phuentsholing. After checking into your hotel, we will complete the vehicle formalities and enjoy a final evening in Bhutan, reflecting on the incredible 8-day journey through the Last Shangri-La.

Bagdogra+
Departure | Taking Home the Himalayan Spirit
After a final breakfast together, we provide comfortable transfers from the Bhutanese border toward Bagdogra Airport. As you head toward your gate, the crisp mountain air and the rhythmic sound of the engines will still be fresh in your memory. You leave behind the winding roads and prayer flags, but you take home the peace, culture, and "GNH" (Gross National Happiness) of Bhutan. Our journey concludes here, but the bond formed on these Himalayan roads remains. We wish you a safe flight back home with memories that will last a lifetime.
