Day 1

GORAKHPUR → LUMBINI → POKHARA

GORAKHPUR

Your Nepal journey begins with a morning pickup from Gorakhpur Railway Station. After meeting your driver and completing the initial formalities, proceed towards the Sunauli–Bhairahawa border, the principal road entry point from India into Nepal. Complete Nepal immigration and border formalities before continuing towards Lumbini, the sacred birthplace of Lord Buddha. Spend time exploring the peaceful surroundings of this important Buddhist pilgrimage destination. After Lumbini, continue your scenic drive towards Pokhara, passing through Nepal’s countryside, hills and changing landscapes. The journey gradually becomes more mountainous as you approach the Pokhara Valley. On arrival, check in at your hotel and relax after the long journey. Depending on arrival time, you may take a leisurely walk around the nearby area or enjoy the evening atmosphere of Pokhara. Overnight stay in Pokhara. Day 2

POKHARA FULL-DAY SIGHTSEEING

Begin the day early with a drive to Sarangkot, one of Pokhara’s most famous Himalayan viewpoints. Weather permitting, enjoy the spectacular sunrise over the Annapurna and surrounding mountain ranges. After sunrise, visit Shree Bindhyabasini Temple, an important religious site offering beautiful views of the surrounding valley. Return towards the city and continue sightseeing after breakfast. Visit Seti River Gorge and the nearby Vhalam Suspension Bridge, followed by Pumdikot, known for its impressive Shiva statue and panoramic views. Continue to Davis Falls and the fascinating Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave located nearby. Later, experience the distinctive Sky Hand Pokhara before proceeding to Phewa Lake for boating. In the evening, depending on weather and available time, visit the World Peace Pagoda for sunset. Your evening can continue with the 7:00 PM Movie Garden Pokhara show, followed by an optional visit to Catwalk Club or Club 16 for nightlife. Return to the hotel for your overnight stay. Day 3

POKHARA → TATOPANI → MARPHA → JOMSOM

After an early breakfast, depart Pokhara and begin your journey towards the spectacular Mustang region. The route takes you through Beni and onward towards Tatopani, with increasingly dramatic mountain scenery along the way. Tatopani is surrounded by steep Himalayan slopes and is an important stop on the route towards Mustang. Continue deeper into the mountains following the Kali Gandaki Valley, one of Nepal’s most impressive Himalayan corridors. As the landscape changes, enjoy views of rugged cliffs, mountain villages and the river valley. Proceed towards the beautiful traditional settlement of Marpha, famous for its distinctive stone houses, narrow lanes and spectacular mountain surroundings. Spend some time exploring this charming village before continuing towards Jomsom, the administrative centre of Mustang. On arrival in Jomsom, visit Dhumba Lake if road and time conditions permit, and explore the surrounding area. Check in at your accommodation and relax after the mountain drive. Day 4

JOMSOM → KAGBENI → MUKTINATH DARSHAN

Wake up early and prepare for one of the most important days of the journey. After breakfast, depart from Jomsom towards Muktinath, travelling through the spectacular high-altitude landscapes of Mustang. En route, stop at Kagbeni, a historic Himalayan village situated near the confluence of the Kali Gandaki and Jhong rivers. Take time to explore its traditional architecture, narrow lanes and unique mountain atmosphere. From Kagbeni, continue towards the sacred destination of Muktinath. Upon arrival, proceed for Muktinath Temple Darshan, one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in Nepal and an important destination for both Hindu and Buddhist devotees. Visit the sacred 108 Water Spouts, where pilgrims traditionally take ritual baths, followed by Jwala Mai Temple, known for its naturally occurring flame. Allow sufficient time for darshan, prayers and exploring the surrounding pilgrimage area. Due to the high altitude and mountain-road conditions, the day should be kept comfortable and flexible. Day 5

MUKTINATH → GHANDRUK

After breakfast, begin the scenic return journey from Muktinath towards Ghandruk. Enjoy changing landscapes as you gradually travel away from the high-altitude environment of Muktinath and towards the greener middle hills of Nepal. The journey offers opportunities to appreciate mountain valleys, traditional settlements and spectacular views along the route. Continue towards Ghandruk, one of Nepal’s best-known traditional Gurung villages. On arrival, settle into your accommodation and take some time to explore the village on foot. GHANDRUK → POKHARA → KATHMANDU

After breakfast, begin your journey towards Pokhara. The route gradually descends from the hills towards the Pokhara Valley, offering changing landscapes throughout the drive. Depending on road and traffic conditions, you may have a short refreshment break in Pokhara before continuing your journey eastwards towards Kathmandu. The drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu follows Nepal’s scenic hill highways and can take several hours depending on traffic and road conditions. On reaching Kathmandu, proceed to your hotel for check-in and freshen up. The evening is kept relatively relaxed after the long journey. You may explore Thamel, Kathmandu’s famous tourist district, known for its shops, cafés, restaurants and lively streets. Enjoy some free time for shopping or exploring before returning to the hotel. Day 7

KATHMANDU TEMPLE & HERITAGE TOUR

Begin your Kathmandu sightseeing early in the morning with a visit to the revered Pashupatinath Temple, one of Nepal’s most important Hindu pilgrimage sites. After darshan, proceed to Guhyeshwari Shaktipeeth Temple, another significant religious destination located in the Pashupatinath area. Continue towards Budhanilkantha Temple, famous for its large reclining statue of Lord Vishnu. After breakfast, continue the heritage sightseeing programme with a visit to Janabaha Dyo / Seto Machhindranath Temple, followed by Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO-listed historic area featuring traditional architecture, temples and palace courtyards. Visit the Kal Bhairav Temple, known for its imposing representation of Lord Bhairav, and then continue to the magnificent Boudhanath Stupa, one of the most important Buddhist landmarks in Kathmandu. Day 8

KATHMANDU → GORAKHPUR DROP

After an early breakfast, check out from your Kathmandu hotel and begin the return journey towards the Nepal–India border. Travel through Nepal’s scenic countryside and hill landscapes as you gradually make your way towards the Terai region. Depending on traffic, road conditions and border procedures, the journey can take several hours. Upon reaching the Nepal–India border, complete the necessary immigration and border formalities before continuing towards Gorakhpur in India. The final leg of the journey takes you through the Indian side towards Gorakhpur Railway Station. On arrival at Gorakhpur, you will be dropped at the railway station, bringing your memorable 8 Days / 7 Nights Nepal journey to an end. The itinerary combines the Himalayan landscapes of Pokhara and Mustang with the spiritual experience of Muktinath, the traditional culture of Ghandruk and the temples and heritage of Kathmandu.
